I was never a big gym freak in the past but when my sister suggested Curves, a 30 minute workout I thought, 'why not try it?'  At first I was hesitant as I didn’t feel 30 minutes was long enough but I went 3 times a week and by the 1st weigh and measure I was convinced it worked.

For the 1st time I had achieved results, I was losing weight and getting fitter.  The way the equipment is displayed and thanks to the friendly nature of the staff it is a great place to come and work out.  I started to want to come to the gym, which is something I never felt like before.

The staff are always on hand if you need help and they also take a genuine interest in you as a person which makes you feel welcome.  Also the other members are really nice to talk to when you are on the circuit.

In three months I reached my goal of losing half a stone, 11 ¼ inches and 3% body fat.  I went from 10stone to 9stone 6lbs which was great.  I am now working on maintaining my weight.

Even though I didn’t participate in a balanced diet I still managed to get excellent results from Curves.  I would recommend it to anyone who is busy or is intimidated of the conventional gym; I have found that Curves is a happy and confident building environment to work out in.

I have been going to Curves since it opened in April.  I was open minded but secretly felt that something that was such fun and only took half an hour would probably not have the desired effect on me, someone who had tried the gym for many months and basically achieved nothing.  What a buzz I got when to my surprise at my first weigh and measure I discovered I had lost 6 ½ inches 2 ½ lbs in weight but more importantly 1% of body fat.  I was also “Top Loser” for that month.

Now I can’t wait to get to Curves 3 or 4 times a week.  Not only do I feel so much better physically but also mentally.  The staff are always helpful and very friendly plus the atmosphere is totally relaxed, it is stimulating and fun because of the music.  Doing the circuit just three times a week is easy, which simply does not allow boredom!

So please ladies, take my advice and give it a try, it will change your life.

I have just started my 4th month at Curves and am pleased to say that I am still enjoying it!  I was a bit sceptical at first to be honest as I couldn’t see how it would work or how I would fit it in being a busy mum of five kids!

I’m glad to say that I took the plunge and gave it a try and was really surprised by my first weigh and measure.  I lost 9lbs and several inches in just a month.  My original goal was to get down to 10stone and my size 12’s again, I started at 11stone and 4lbs and wore a size 14-16.  I’m already back into a size 12 and only 4lbs left to go with all my toning.

I really enjoy the simplicity of it, no weights to mess around with, no waiting or pre-booking, just turn up and go for it!  The staff are brilliant, very friendly and genuinely interested in your progress as well, always encouraging you.

I’m keen to start the advanced workout soon so that I can continue to challenge myself.  I look forward to my half an hour now at the end of the day to de-stress.  I highly recommend Curves if you want to not only lose weight but feel and look much healthier!  I have tried dieting alone and although I managed to lose weight, it never stayed off for very long, this really helps!  I also enjoy the fact that you can see where it’s coming off from my monthly weigh and measuring.

Earlier this year I was being treated for a bad back and knee by a physiotherapist. I was recommended to take a low bearing exercise and my friend had joined Curves so I asked if it would be ok for me to join and the Physiotherapist said it would be beneficial so I thought I would try it.

I joined Curves and after a few sessions started to feel less stiff and did not need further physio treatment.  I try and do 3 sessions a week if I can and the benefits are threefold as I am feeling fitter, have lost inches and bodyfat and also enjoy the sessions which are made fun by the girls who work there.

I find 30 minutes is easy to find and after work is good to come into Curves and have a workout.  It relaxes me and gives me more energy so when I get back home I seem to get more housework done.

I would recommend Curves to anyone as I am 66 years old and coming to Curves has really been beneficial all round for me.  I feel younger and alot fitter.

So come on ladies you deserve to have some time to yourself and what better way to give yourself 30 minutes to exercise and meet people.  Another plus is each session is equivalent to an hour and half of other exercise so you can't beat it.
